In collaboration with the Government of Balochistan, UNDP and UN Women, UNODC organized a one-day consultative workshop with the aim of promoting a comprehensive approach to institutional performance reforms within criminal justice institutions. The workshop brought together key representatives from various sectors, including the judiciary, police, levies, prosecution, prisons, reclamation, probation departments, Women Department, Social Welfare Department, Civil Society, and Bar. Emphasising the importance of consensus, coordination, and cross-institutional support, discussions centered on developing a practical action plan to address challenges such as overcrowding and problematic conviction rates. The participatory planning process resulted in reform proposals for the next three years, now integral to the newly revised ‘Rule of Law Roadmap 2024-2026’. This initiative is funded by the European Union under the Deliver Justice Project.
