As a pivotal advancement within the framework of the Rule of Law Roadmap, a comprehensive three-day training program reached its conclusion on December 20th, 2023, at the newly inaugurated Women and Juvenile Facilitation Centre (#WJFC) in Quetta. Executed in collaboration with the Balochistan Police and generously funded by the U.S. Embassy Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL), the program was strategically designed to empower women police officers with the requisite skills and knowledge for proficiently addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) cases, aligning with global standards.

Incorporating the expertise of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the training extensively covered the essentials of GBV, delving into its psychological, social, and legal dimensions. This comprehensive approach aimed to imbue officers with the sensitivity and empathy necessary to navigate these intricate cases with compassion and understanding. The program, grounded in the principles of not only addressing immediate concerns but also disrupting the cycle of violence through effective intervention and support, aimed to leave a lasting impact on the community.

This undertaking underscores the steadfast commitment of all stakeholders involved in fostering a safer environment, devoid of violence. The culmination of this training signifies a significant stride in the empowerment of women police officers and the provision of support to victims of GBV in Balochistan. Together, we affirm our dedication to cultivating a community free from violence. #endGBV
